Whirl into Winter Giveaway!

The winner of my drawing is littlepeepsmom! Your package will be winging to you this afternoon!

It's winter, and I love winter because I love snowflakes! I'm also loving the chance to have new visitors by having a giveaway, hosted by
Debi. Be sure to stop by the main blog for more giveaways.

My giveaway includes: Celtic Geometric Quilts by Camille Remme, a fat-quarter of green-ribbon fabric (ovarian cancer awareness), a 1/2 yard of hand-dyed fabric, and approximately a yard (in 2 pieces) of "In the Beginning... XOXOX Cat" Fabric. Plus some surprises if I can fit anything else in the box. (I have a few template books that look like fun, but that I will never use. They may join in the trip to your home, should I draw your name!) The assistant may contribute something, but she tends to be pretty random (she is 2 3/4 years old, after all). Does this sound like fun to you?

Then come back on or after January 1 and follow the directions to win. I will NOT accept entries left before January 1! The drawing ends January 14 at 12:00 noon my time. I will announce a winner on January 15.

1. Answer this question: What do you love about snow? If you don't answer the question, you can't be entered!

2. Either have your email visible on your profile or leave your email. You will NOT be entered to win if I cannot reply to your comment or enter an email. I will NOT visit your blog and leave a comment there. Last time, I had 150 comments, and that's too many to hunt around for contact information. I NEED AN EMAIL ADDRESS! (I will ship international, so anyone is welcome to enter.)

3. Earn an extra chance to have your name drawn by mentioning my blog in a post on your blog.

from the room of Zana's Ninis,
katie z.

What I love about soft snow is the fun of snow balls seeing little ones and parents making a snowman.
however when we first came to Tasmania a young couple we met thought we had never seen snow so took us up mount Wellington for a surprise SNOW it was hard we were throwing snow balls when one hit my fob watch and smashed it to pieces I'd been bending down to collect snow to throw so it was hanging loose LOl

What do I love about snow? Living in Northern IL and being totally dumped on with snow last month, I can honestly say that what I love the most about snow is that it melts. LOL Truthfully though I love looking out the window right after a snowfall and seeing how serene it looks, especially when it's the type with the sparkly crystals making it shimmer in the sunlight. That's a beautiful sight to see...............IF we aren't leaving the house because driving on snow is not that much fun. HA

Fabulous prizes! My favorite thing about snow is ...how quiet and still the world seems after a good snow. Happy New Year.

What I love about snow is that it doesn't come here to Georgia very often. The world looks so nice and clean when there is new snow.

This giveaway looks great! I love the book!
It was nice, traveling through your blog. You made some wonderful quilts! I love the logcabin one (great colors)and the black and red one. Such a simple pattern with such an impressive effect. Good luck with your giveaway! I think it is overwhelming.

Forgot what I love about the snow: taking a walk through it with our dog, who just turns crazy when running through it!

Wht a wonderful giveaway. I grew up in Minnesota so I certainly know all there is about snow. I think my favorite memory is lying on the snow and making snow angels by moving our arms and legs back and forth! a.haun@sbcglobal.net

When I was little I loved when it snowed as my mother would make snow ice cream. It was so good! I would be afraid to do that now but it was the best tasting ever. That's a very nice gift that you're giving away! Thanks!!

I still like sledding the best. Snowshoes are fun. Here in Maine we get plenty of the white stuff. Thanks for the giveaway.

I like looking at snow thru closed window at twilight. Knowing I don't have to live in it.

This whirl into winter has blogland a buzzin! What do I like about snow? Well being in Australia, I haven't had much to do with it, however the photos look so lovely, fresh and crisp. Sparkling and new perhaps? Very pretty anyways.
What a great prize and thanks for the opportunity to win.

I love the snowflakes of the first snowfall of the year, but my favorite thing about snow is that it melts and reveals the flowers and warm weather of Spring. Sorry to sound negative, but our winters are simply too long and messy to hold my interest.

Snow ice cream is one good thing about snow. Another is that crunchy sound it makes when you step into it. I love making snowmen and dressing them up with a hat and scarf and a carrot nose!

What I love about snow...my dog playing in it, digging holes and wondering where they went the next day....new snow has filled them in. Throwing snowballs to her...they ususally disappear before she gets them...She loves the snow....definitely did not inherit that quirk from me. Claire mckiernan@rogers.com

I love everything about snow except driving in it. It makes the world look so clean and new. The air smells wonderful and fresh after a heavy snowfall. Snowball fights and building snowmen are two of the best pastimes on Earth. Snowcream is the best ice cream on Earth.

And, most of all, I love the way fresh snow squeaks under my feet when I wallk through it.

I love watching my dogs run around in a fresh snowfall, plowing their noses through it, then picking up their heads and they have a pile of snow sitting on their noses.

Thank you for posting this - what a lovely giveaway!

My favorite thing about snow - silly as it sounds - is making caves out of it. I pile it all up, then dig out a hidey-hole. I will gladly wield a shovel for a half hour making a little cave-house, but ask me to do the end of the drive? In ten minutes I'm ready to heave the shovel away for good! I also like having an excuse to throw things (snowballs) at my offspring!
Happy New year!

My favorite thing about snow is how beautiful it is, but also how exciting it is. It only snows about once a year here, so when it does, most people stay home from work and school...it's like a holiday!

I love how it makes everything look so peaceful. I'm originally from Minnesota currently living in Arizona. Not much snow here. But, I loved making snow angels when I was a little girl.

ROFL! If you'd asked me the question before I got snowed-in on the side of this mountain for ELEVEN days, I'm sure there would be a much different answer!

I'm still pretty scarred from the whole experience ;-) At this point, what I like most about snow is that it's about 500 feet higher than I am!!

I love that snow melts! No, Ilove when my girls can roll in snow and make angels They think snow is so magical.

Katie, I love the fabrics in your giveaway. I live in So. California so I don't get to see snow unless I go to the mountains. I used to ski in my younger days but now, I think I better just build snowmen. I'm old! lol

Linda said...

Your assistant gets a "2 thumbs up" from my Grandbaby! Everytime I take Alexxa(19months) shopping for fabric she runs to the remnant or FQ section and just has to take something home! Eventually when she has amassed enough fabric, I plan to make them into a quilt.
What I love about snow... well I can tell you my children are in the background saying "No School Today!!" lol I love the covered trees. Making snowmen, having snowball fights, snow angels, animal tracks, how the white snow makes all the other colors fibrant...many more I could list. Thank you for hosting a giveaway - Good luck to everyone!
