This week, I finished two quilts. One was a t-shirt quilt for a neighbor. The second was my hexagon quilt, which I'll blog about later.
The other push this week was another batch of blocks for my Odd Fellows quilt. Between the other two quilts and all the farm work this week, I finished 9 more for a total of 45. Soon, my design wall won't hold all the blocks. I'm trying to decide if I should sew some of the blocks into four-patches, or if I should wait until I have all the blocks complete. What would you do?
I hope to finish 8 more blocks that I have cut as well as my Bits and Bobs for the month in the next week. Do you have any great plans? I hope a little time is spent enjoying all the orange projects this weekend.

Sewing them partially together now sure would make the assembly easier later, as long as you won't need to rearrange the colors too much. Webbing the top is such a long part of the process!
I love this project! Sewing as you go does make it easier at the end. As Angela says, if you don't think you'll have to worry about balancing the colors I'd go for it.

What a beautiful quilt these blocks will become! Orange is not my favorite color but in this quilt, it could almost be so. I love how you've combined so many variations of orange including (I think,) rust and maybe some browns. Wonderful!

I always like to wait till the end to sew together, but that's because I love to arrange and rearrange the blocks. Whichever you choose, enjoy the process!

I usually like to wait, so I can arrange the colors better, but it seems like sewing them in groups of four would still make color arranging easy. Anything to make the assembly less tedious at the end!
Sewing together is my least favourite part of the process. I am with the others- the job is easier to do as you go.
I could just sit and stare at those blocks all day! Beautiful!
Beautiful blocks! If your satisfied with this arrangement (and it looks great from here) I'd start sewing them together. If they're in 4-patches you can always rearrange those blocks later.

I have no design wall at all so have to wait until all blocks are sewn and then I usually just sew them together randomly. Or if I don't think random will work I throw them on the floor and have the grandkids arrange for me.
Stitch them together! Save yourself time later! I always opt for the easier way, though, so I could be wrong. :)
I would be very tempted to stitch them into four patches - it protects the outside edges and makes them easier to handle (on or off the design wall). Plus it will be faster to assemble the top later.
Beautiful! I like to stitch mine into 4 patches and 8 patches... something about hating long sewing seams. Good luck.
