Slow and Steady

Well, hello.  I didn’t mean to skip all of my posts last weekend, but here we are.  Working full time, moving the oldest into college, and starting school with the other six was all I could do over the last two weeks.

In quiet moments in busy mornings and exhausted evenings, I decided I won’t quilt the rest of my ABC quilt right now.  It’s partially quilted, so that’s better than the pile of fabrics it was for the last 10 years.

My I.5” strips of orange are all four patches now.  There aren’t very many, which is good!  I hope I can work on my orange flowers in the coming week, but if I don’t finish them, I still have one more week.  I’d like to get back into the habit of reading the Rainbow Scrap Challenge blogs this weekend.

The start of a new school year can sure be a whirlwind! It's amazing you got any sewing done at all. Cute 4-patch blocks!

I hope The Assistant is settling well into college life, Katie! I'm sure Spunky is now at the helm and taking up the slack on the home front. Nice job on getting through some of your ORANGE scrap sewing! Best of luck with figuring out the school year schedule for 2024-25.

The beginning of the school year is always hectic! Glad you got a little sewing time in. It's good therapy!

There is a wide gap between your not very many and my idea of not very many. School transition weeks are are always hectic. Yet you still found time to sew. Well done.

That's a busy few weeks. The college move alone is enough to wear you out. Hopefully everyone has most of the kinks worked out with the new schedule and this week isn't quite so exhausting. Enjoy your stitching time.

August Block Count

I thought I wrote this, but it seems to be lost somewhere or I never wrote it at all… August was a quiet block month, with only 42 16-patch...
