Whirl into Winter Giveaway!

The winner of my drawing is littlepeepsmom! Your package will be winging to you this afternoon!

It's winter, and I love winter because I love snowflakes! I'm also loving the chance to have new visitors by having a giveaway, hosted by
Debi. Be sure to stop by the main blog for more giveaways.

My giveaway includes: Celtic Geometric Quilts by Camille Remme, a fat-quarter of green-ribbon fabric (ovarian cancer awareness), a 1/2 yard of hand-dyed fabric, and approximately a yard (in 2 pieces) of "In the Beginning... XOXOX Cat" Fabric. Plus some surprises if I can fit anything else in the box. (I have a few template books that look like fun, but that I will never use. They may join in the trip to your home, should I draw your name!) The assistant may contribute something, but she tends to be pretty random (she is 2 3/4 years old, after all). Does this sound like fun to you?

Then come back on or after January 1 and follow the directions to win. I will NOT accept entries left before January 1! The drawing ends January 14 at 12:00 noon my time. I will announce a winner on January 15.

1. Answer this question: What do you love about snow? If you don't answer the question, you can't be entered!

2. Either have your email visible on your profile or leave your email. You will NOT be entered to win if I cannot reply to your comment or enter an email. I will NOT visit your blog and leave a comment there. Last time, I had 150 comments, and that's too many to hunt around for contact information. I NEED AN EMAIL ADDRESS! (I will ship international, so anyone is welcome to enter.)

3. Earn an extra chance to have your name drawn by mentioning my blog in a post on your blog.

I love snow because it covers all the imperfections outside my window. I love to watch it fall gently. I love to try to catch it on my tongue and I really love it when there is enough to make a bowl of snow ice cream!

Snow brings back so many fond memories of when I was a little girl. I especially love remembering how we'd walk around the mountain looking for the perfect Christmas tree. I visited Colorado a couple years ago and the first thing I did was make sure my daughter got to see snow for the first time. We even built a little snowman and we laughed so hard at the results!

I love snow because it is far away from where I live. Here in Northern California, we don't have to drive in it, or shovel it, but can go play in it when we want to :) And it is pretty to look at on TV and then go outside and run around in a short sleeved shirt on the grass.

What I love about snow is how pretty everything looks when it is covered by a new coat of snow. Please count me in your draw.

Hi, thanks for this nice giveaway! What I love about snow is those early weekend mornings with fresh snow when everything is white and so peaceful. I would love to win. Thanks.

I love to look out on a snow storm when I don't have to go out and see how beautiful it is hanging on the evergreens.

I love the quiet and serenity of a snowfall! Although I don't particularly enjoy driving in it!

I've never seen snow in real life but I love seeing it in all the blogland photos, so cool and clean looking, especially when I'm melting in a 40+ heat wave.

I like watching the kids play in it mostly. But if we get enough I like making snow ice cream best. :)

Aloha! The best thing I like about snow is that when my family goes up to Mauna Kea (when we do have snow there), we take some fruit-flavored syrup & make "shave ice" as we call it here-snow cones-!! YUM!Thank you for entering my name!

I love everything about snow... well, maybe not having to clear the car in the mornings, but I love making snow men with my kids, I love digging snow caves and I love skiing. The snow also makes everything clean and bright, and I love sitting by the fire looking through the window at the snow falling.

This is a great giveaway. The book looks particularly interesting since I'm partial to everything Celtic after living in Scotland for almost 9 years but have now, recently, moved back "home" to Norway.

We have already had a lot of snow this year - 9 inches fell today. The thing I love most is watching it fall and cover the world in a pristine blanket of fascinating shapes.

What I love about snow is that it makes me feel all cozy ( if I am inside ! ) and want to quilt, and bake and read and make soup, cuddle up and watch movies, etc. . . I guess it makes me want to NEST !

Thanks for the great giveaway !

I love playing with my kids in the snow and then heading inside for some hot chocolate. Makes for tired kids and a great day!

Snow makes the landscape beautiful. I grew up in NH but have been away for many years. X-mas hasn't been the same since. It just went with winter. As a kid it meant you had a chance to have school cancelled. Thanks for having the wonderful giveaway.

Well, I am not really a snow person, but I love it's brightness in the dark season. But I most love it when it's gone ... ;-)

Thanks for offering those awesome prizes! I'd sure love to win :)

I love snow only when it is freshly fallen...I love the way it blankets everything with white - even individual berries on a bush. Being in Alabama, we never see it! I miss my younger days growing up in New England.

Thanks for the chance to win!

I just love how it makes everything look so clean and peaceful, except the roads, because road snow is really gross.

I guess what I love about snow is being able to live in a climate that has it. Just read the comment before mine that stated she hadn't seen snow for thirty years, that made me sad. I just shovelled about three inches of it off my sidewalk and I don't think I'll complain.

I probably have an unpopular answer. There is very little that I love about snow. I moved south to get away from the snow. The one major bright spot that I see about snow is that when it melts in the spring, we get a little relief from the drought.
