Before... it may not be obvious, but this carpet was dingy, disgusting, and trashed. The carpet guy (a friendly man, especially with my crazy kids) said it was done for. |

The Screamer's blood lead level is elevated too, so it's good we're doing all this work.

I don't know if I asked or if you posted something but how do kids get high lead levels besides eating old paint containing lead? And was there any indication that they had some kind of issues to make them get tested? And is there lead in carpeting? Just very curious about all this. We had to take all the carpeting out of our house due to allergies. We have hardwood and ceramic tile everywhere but the family room. It's the only carpeted room in the house and we're supposed to vaccum it every day but now that the boys are older,18 and 26, it's not so much of an issue. they don't usually crawl around on it like they did when they were younger. I do know that steam cleaning with the commercial cleaning products releases all kind of toxins and my boys used to have asthma attacks and be hospitalized. Kind of weird when you think that cleaning is causing harm to your kids.
